Women’s health is a hot topic, and rightfully so.  A woman’s body goes through many changes throughout her life.  Some of these changes happen gracefully while others, frankly, do not.  It is important for a woman to feel empowered and comfortable in their body and informed on all the different ways she can bring her body back into balance when those changes occur. Taking good care of your health and well-being is part of living in harmony with yourself and your environment, and creating the quality of life you deserve.

Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) are safe, effective and natural ways to bring a woman’s body back into balance.  It is useful during every stage of a woman’s life from pre-pubescence all to way to post-menopause, and can address a wide variety of health concerns.  Taking a holistic approach to our health and recovery helps our Qi to flow freely; nourishing our cells, tissues, muscles, and organs.  Chen Ziming, an ancient TCM doctor, wrote in his book, “Fu Ren Da Quan Liang Fang” (Compendium of Good Remedies for Women) “…Whenever treating disease, one first needs to discuss what [a particular case] is ruled by. In men, regulate their qi; in women, regulate their blood […] Thus in women, blood is the foundation. When qi and blood flow freely, their spirit is naturally clear.”  In other words, when a woman’s menstrual cycle is flowing freely and the hormones are balanced and uninhibited, feeling great is a natural result.

TCM therapies can help smooth the transition into puberty, relieve growing pains, regulate the menstrual cycle, decrease and/or eliminate PMS symptoms, and assist with amenorrhea (no period). They can also be very effective in treating PCOS, endometriosis, and other conditions that can contribute to female infertility. Chinese herbal medicine, as well as acupuncture, are extremely useful to support a healthy pregnancy and delivery, and can help with post-partum issues as well as facilitating lactation. Many women struggling with the transition into menopause also find TCM a natural alternative to aggressive hormone replacement therapies. Addressing ourselves holistically helps create a healthy body, a happy mind, and a peaceful spirit.
